PMTA Disclosure

What Is a PMTA?
A Premarket Tobacco Product Application (PMTA) is the application a manufacturer must submit to the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for any new tobacco or vapor product. The FDA reviews each application to decide whether marketing the product is appropriate for the protection of public health. Products generally may remain on the market while a timely filed application is under review, unless the FDA orders otherwise.
Our Approach
- We track the PMTA status of the products we carry based on information provided by manufacturers and published FDA lists, and we record a manufacturer-supplied PMTA reference for products in our catalog where available.
- When the FDA issues a Marketing Denial Order (MDO) or otherwise orders a product off the market, we remove that product from sale.
- We periodically review our catalog against FDA announcements and update product availability accordingly.
Important Notes
PMTA status information on this site is provided for transparency and is based on manufacturer representations and publicly available FDA information at the time of publication. It is not legal advice, and we make no warranty as to its completeness or timeliness. Regulatory status can change; where it does, our catalog may lag briefly while we process updates.
We do not list specific application or tracking numbers on this page. If you have a question about the regulatory status of a specific product, contact us via the contact page and we will share the information the manufacturer has provided to us.
